Confluence
Confluence is a wearable reflection of memory, inheritance, and personal narrative. It was created through 3D scanning, printing, and lost-wax casting. The bronze ring merges a crocodile, bird, teacup, and saucer—miniature relics of my childhood.
The crocodile originates from my grandmother’s cherished figurine collection, which she displayed in a glass cabinet when I was a child. Over time, as her collection was no longer on display, she gifted me some of the figurines, transferring their physical presence as well as the sentimental significance. The teacup and saucer reference my own childhood fascination with collecting tea sets. My grandmother encouraged this interest when she gifted me one of my first sets. The bird symbolizes my grandparents’ love of bird-watching, a hobby I participated in with them.
This ring acts as a vessel of remembrance, carrying the shared moments and the evolving significance of objects as they become heirlooms. The act of wearing it becomes a form of quiet storytelling—an ongoing connection to the past, held within the material permanence of bronze. The ring was displayed in a decorated box in a collaborative exhibition.
